This Poem Of Mine – Poem

This Poem Of Mine

By Diana Arco

I must confess

When I write a poem

It goes as it goes,

And without a title

To hold myself into,

I give my best shot.

So, here I find myself

Lost between lines

And paragraphs,

Where words from my within

Arrive to my call.

Cause’ the inspiration

Never lets me down,

For this is my only guide,

My beliefs,

My present,

My whole being.

And I feel comfortably safe

In this world

Full of my surprises,

In this meeting

Where more than one universe

Freely collides,

To let me finish

Until the end,

This poem of mine.

Ancient Teaching – Poem

Ancient Teaching

By Diana Arco

Ancient teaching

As old as our existence,

I  embrace you

With all my light.

You give me peace

Here, in my now,

In my days of joy

And my dreams at nights.

In my moments of despair,

I accept when I’am weak,

And in ignorance I fall,

But you, ancient tradition,

Lift me up

With your divine

And unconditional love.

“All The Light, Life, Love, And Freedom From The Heart And Soul.”

The two kinds of writers – Really? I’m having a situation in here…

two-kind-of-coffee--beans-and-grinded

Greetings everyone!

I went to swim again into the internet’s waters to research about the two kinds of writers in the world of literature in general. It doesn’t matter the genre, the style of the writing, etc. It doesn’t matter the age, gender, social status of each writer. But I’m having a situation in here where there are more than two kinds… so why people is insisting to say “two kinds”?… I just don’t get it, and I don’t want to, since all the “kinds” makes sense to me, the writer.

So, here there are, the two kind of writers that are and are not…

– Those who write what they know and those who write in order to know.
– Those who write the Truth and those who don’t.
– Those that make you think, and those that make you wonder.
– One is a writer who’s always telling you things you never thought of, or didn’t know before. The other is a writer who’s telling you things that you do know but that you’ve never quite formulated for yourself.
– One is in love with words, and the other is in love with imagery.
– The established and emerging. If you’re among the latter, you begin not with the written word, but with an idea.
– There are those who know what they are going to write from the beginning to the end. And there are those who just sit down, put the pen in their hand and, like water-skiing, let the boat pull them.
– The hedgehogs and foxes. The fox knows many things, the hedgehog knows just one thing.
– The talented and gifted. Talented writers “convey” while gifted writers “translate.”
– Those who make you think, ‘Yes that’s the way it is’ and those who make you think, ‘I never supposed it could be like that.”
– The good and bad, yet the ones who are successful are equally good or bad, what sets them apart is that they persist and have discipline.
– One wishes to consider language transparent, able to be shared by everyone, and the other wishes to invent a language of his or her own, which is obscure.
– A-writers and B-writers. A-writers are storytellers, B-writers are users of language.
– Those who reinforce what the public thinks, the conventional values, and those who constantly interrogate the conventional values.
– One responds to life itself. The other responds to the history of the art.
– Those who are interesting and those who are boring.. but what’s interesting and boring? … I leave that to the perception of each reader.
– There are architects and gardeners. The architecs design and build, while the gardeners dig a hole and plant the seed to see what comes up.
– Those who write because they can’t talk and those who write because they talk so much.
– Those who are natural storytellers and those who instinctively know how to craft good prose.

And, it goes on and on…

Sincerely,
Diana.

Things that Writers Should Do And Never Do About Writing – Links

writing key words

Greetings, everyone!

I’am a new writer and I’am about to get published this year for first time with my poetry prose fantasy tale “The Composer and The Flycatcher” http://www.prlog.org/12144423-donnaink-publications-signs-author-diana-arco-and-her-title-the-composer-and-the-flycatcher.html http://www.donnaink.org/#!author-diana-arco/zoom/csi9/image197h
I have a long road to write… I mean to walk, but I woke up this morning with the need to talk to you about “Things that writers should do and should never do” About writing, in general. So, I went into my files and I’m taking the freedom to provide you with the links of the best web pages that I’ve been able to find and that I keep visiting.
My Note: This doesn’t mean you gotta follow all these as the way they are, since life taught me that experience, making mistakes, and have sucess are part of each one of us, but I also found out that it’s good to know things in advance that if you feel them right you could take them to consideration.

So, let’s start with:

“Things That A Writer Should Never Do”

From Writers Digest
http://www.writersdigest.com/editor-blogs/there-are-no-rules/15-things-a-writer-should-never-do
Based on interviews with authors over the years, conferences, editing dozens of issues of Writer’s Digest, and my own occasional literary forays and flails, here are some points of consensus and observations: 15 of them, things anyone who lives by the pen (or seeks to) might consider. It is, like most things in the writing world, a list in progress—and if you’ve got your own Dos or Don’ts to add…

“Things That A Writer Should Do And / Or Needs to Know”

From WikiHow
http://www.wikihow.com/Become-a-Writer
The translation of human experience into an artful literary presentation is the art of writing. Writing is a careful craft that follows certain literary techniques and maintains field standards. Most fields in creative writing (from academia and publishing, to grant and technical writing), require a higher degree, including at least a Bachelor’s degree, and, often, an MFA in creative writing or an MA in literature, journalism, or a related field.
My Note: I enjoy reading articles from “WikiHow”… this is an amazing website to explore.

From the New York Times Blog
http://opinionator.blogs.nytimes.com/2013/07/22/should-we-write-what-we-know/?_r=0
My Note: A very interesting article that to my consideration it’s worth reading.
Should we write what we know? this is a very interesting question… and tricky too.

From Firstwriter.com
http://www.firstwriter.com/writing_tips/
My Comment: The article says “For the aspiring writer” but I find this article very usable for coming back and read it all the times you need, even when you’ve been published.
Firstwriter.com it’s one of my favorites web pages.

Happy Writing, Everyone!

Sincerely,
Diana.

The Writer In Us! Where to go?

How writers are

Greetings, everyone!

Happy monday and starting of the week!

I felt the need to come here to you and talk about ourselves, the “writers” that we are.
Some of us are accomplished and successful writers, or we are just starting the adventure, while others only write for themselves and their loved ones. There it is the writer in us, and we are in the need to express ourselves, to create a whole new world, to follow all the rules, to break them all, to create new rules, to follow our own consciouness in our master pieces.
We enjoy this freedom to sit ourselves in a confortable place or a noisy one, and there we are listening to music or the noise, drinking our favorite beverage, and getting in touch with our spark of inspiration. Our fingers fly holding the pen that writes on that notebook when we feel ourselves oldfashion. Our hands fly all over the keyboard of our laptops. We are just creating, giving form to that love letter with all our soul, or to that poem, or that chapter of your manuscript, or that article for your blog, or for that famous magazine, journal. It’s like breathing, eating, walking, running… it’s part of each one of us in our daily lives.
Every single day a master piece is born and it’s on its way into the light. I strongly believe each word created was meat to go out and reach where it must. How this happens? It is you, my dear writer, the one, the owner of your own writing’s destiny. I bet you have experienced that a weak writing is not going anywhere. I strongly believe that when you write with all your might, all your intentions, your affirmations, all that love and positive ways within yourself there is no way that you can go wrong. You must believe you are going to get there someday where you really wish to be, even when you’re not aware about it today, even when you are in doubts sometimes and have fears, you gotta stand up for yourself to find answers and continue your journey… to continue writing. You are the one who gives to yourself the green and / or the red light in your road when you must need it.

Remember, there is someone outside that needs to read you and your creations. They are waiting for you… my dear writer.

Sincerely,
Diana.

All the light, life, love, and freedom from the heart and soul.
